221. cap relay nerf - biased towards armor tankers - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I thought that both cap relays and cap recharges were getting a stacking nerf. In the devblog though it says that cap relays will get the shield boosting penalty which was gonna be the case some time ago. It is early so i could be missing someth...

222. Projectile Falloff Nerf? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Yes i too have fears for the tempest. Although this particular nerf, hopefully, won't affect it too much. My worries are that these small nerfs are all gonna add up on the tempest and make it inferior to other ships. The missile damage is getting ...

223. Idea for balancing proposed fitting requirement changes - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Originally by: Baun Quote: Also think that the only way to balance the using of x-large shield boosters is to increase the cpu requirement of them and then increase the 'shield tankers' raven , scorp, tempest and domi to be able to ...

224. Idea for balancing proposed fitting requirement changes - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Yup i would agree that the original post is a v.good idea. For one the reduced powergrid on meta siege launchers will give the raven and scorp an extra incentive to fit them rather than cpu in which they both have in abundance and also help it in ...

225. Another bs balancing thread, RE : the tempest and shield boosters - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
yes but i did not think that was confirmed by tomb unlike other changes (armor repairers, siege etc) and reduced cpu of shield boosters may cause imbalance on other ships as discussed in another thread....

226. Another bs balancing thread, RE : the tempest and shield boosters - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I guess we will have to wait and see what all these changes will bring about. It just concerns me that the fun of setting up ships may decrease with options possibly taken away, although an armor tanked raven was a bit silly (sorry to tired to thi...

227. Another bs balancing thread, RE : the tempest and shield boosters - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
See...I absolutely hate it when people come a whinin about this stuff in the forums. If you would just actually try to fit that you will see that your x-l booster takes 160 cpu and you can fit all that with cpu to spare. But instead you post...

228. Another bs balancing thread, RE : the tempest and shield boosters - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Ye i do own a named shield booster (neutron) but don't wanna have to pay out 25 million everytime for least cpu intensive clarity ward just to be able to set up properly. Armor defence will only be an option, on tempest, for close range set ups an...

Edited by: Rob Mattacks on 17/05/2004 16:00:12 Yes i realise that and fully defensive tank set up will not be possible anyway cos of stacking nerf plus the fact that pdu's are needed for weapons. The cpu has not been compensated with the intro...

231. Another bs balancing thread, RE : the tempest and shield boosters - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I have posted this elsewhere but it may get lost in the mayhem so.... Ok as I understand it shield boosters have not been reduced in CPU on chaos. This is good to prevent mega and apoc etc exploiting and using shield defence BUT the tempest will ...

Can anyone tell me if large and x-large shield booster have in fact been halved in cpu on chaos inline with the other changes ? thanks in advance

234. Power & CPU changes on ships and armor repairers and siege launcher - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Actually the scorpion wont be too badly affected. The grid with engineering lv 5 is 11250 mw and fitting 4 siege (7000mw) will leave you with 4250 mw for 2 turrets. If you wanna fit 2 425mm's may have to use a low slot for grid upgrade but no othe...

235. Apocalypse the new super ship, Raven still a dud - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Well in tomb's latest post he didn't mention that shield boosters will get that reduction in cpu so hopefully mega and apoc will be prevented from having uber weapons set up due to CPU issues. 8x1400mm's on apoc with no bonuses are not gonna be th...

236. Power & CPU changes on ships and armor repairers and siege launcher - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I think these changes look very good. Hopefully CPU will keep the mega, apoc and arma from uber weapon set ups encouraging them to use armor defence. I am glad that it is gonna be tough for raven to fit 6 siege and 2 425mm's also cos no one else ca...

Originally by: Kashre If you're in a giant fleet battle where tanking only prolongs your life a little bit anyways, I can see the use of the 5x1400 setup. But in a smaller setting, say 3 on 3, 4x1400 and 4xheavy launchers is a lot better...

240. Upcoming changes effects on BS - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
With the proposed changes tempest, raven, scorp and domi will only be able to choose shield defence and have a decent weapons config. I totally agree with you that the domi needs more choice like the 350mm rail which has been mentioned but not sure...
